Singapore International Film Festival 1998-99

in 1998 (top tix), t'was still sponsored by UOB Bank and the filmfest tix price was still $8.24. while from 1999, you can see "Singapore Film Commission Presents" on top of tix instead. tho price has remained the same. the ticket in the middle is a "Complimentary Ticket" (hence COMPLY and $.00 printed on) what strikes me (personnally) more with these tickets, is that they are for (the now defunct) Majestic Theatre , (the now demolished) Cathay 2 and (the now defunct) Capitol Cinema . Images of old Cathay and it's corner Orange Julius flood back in, as well as the crowded toilets in Cathay ... cool :)

A Revival for #MyCineTix?

I excavated decades old cinema ticket stubs (because I am a hoarder OMG), primarily for the Singapore International Film Festival screenings, some of whom I no longer remembered watching, some I still do... and I share them with folks who read my film hobby blog #POPCORNX, cheers. Above video first film on Instagram-Live on @toysrevil (*Watchable here now ). My plan is to feature select films in separate blogposts, but just in case the plan goes bust (like most of my "plans" inevitably do dammit) - here's a look at the ticket stubs, cheers. Actually what's funny is (actually more "tragic comedy" than "funny"), was that I had started a blog dubbed " mycinetix.blogspot.com " back in two-thousand-freakin'-five (Yes, talking to myself since 2005 muahahahahahaha), with the sole intention of showcasing my cinema ticket stubs for films I'd devoured through the years! "CINEMA" is as important to me

this blog is still at it's preliminary testing stage (ie: haven't design and make nice-nice yet lah!) :p Things To Work Out : [1] scans of tix are damn blur. dunno why. haveta figure this out somehow, otherwise no point having this blog! [2] research more into ticket prices of each era, especially the regular cinema tickets. [3] research into the happenings during each ticket-scan, what was the "hot news" then etc. [4] try to digup old photos taken during each era. find relevant images of cinemas. *this is the hard bit* [5] canvas for contributions for other missing tickets. [6] set-up a hit counter (dunno why i bother with these things really, they hurt my ego more than massage it *bleh*) [7] do up the links, text yadda yadda yadda, ya know the design-drill ... am i missing anything else? cheers :)
